Elizabeth Moore, PhD, RN, IBCLC is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. Dr. Moore obtained her BSN from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, her MSN from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and her PhD in nursing from Vanderbilt University. She was also employed as a hospital based lactation consultant and maternal-infant clinical nurse specialist for many years before assuming her position at the school of nursing in 2005.
Her research interests include women's breastfeeding attitudes and self-efficacy beliefs, mother-infant skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth, kangaroo care for preterm infants in the neonatal intensive care unit and the use of meta-analysis to evaluate clinical interventions in nursing.
