Putnam Barber has been active in supporting understanding of the work of nonprofits by staff and volunteers and by the general public since the early 1990s. He is editor of the Nonprofit FAQ (http://www.idealist.org/npofaq) and a Senior Advisor to the Nancy Bell Evans Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy, Evans School of Public Affairs, University of Washington.
