Early Career Researchers, often shortened to ECRs, are eager to perform peer review and contribute value to their colleagues and field of expertise thorough feedback for the author in question. However, in the early stages of their career they do need guidance from senior colleagues as to whether the review they conducted was suitable and in line with others in the field.

Sage has an agreement with Illinois State University to publish articles open access. The agreement for participating organizations will run from January 01, 2024, through to December 31, 2026. The details of the agreement are as follows:

To qualify for the agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with Illinois State University and have an article accepted for publication between January 01, 2024, and December 31, 2026.

A number of funders require research articles which have resulted from their funding to be made open access. Sage helps authors comply with these mandates either via the gold open access publication route or green open access archiving.
