Sage welcomes proposals for new Special Collections in our Gold Open Access journals.
Special Collections are intended to attract high quality articles on topics of current interest in the field of the journal. They should be organized by Guest Editors who are recognized experts in their field.
It is helpful for Guest Editors to have a list of potential contributors already in mind, and reach out to them as soon as possible.
Although blended learning isn’t a new model, 2020 caught many students and lecturers by surprise by having to adapt to fully learning and teaching online.
Some subscription journals charge authors page or publication charges to publish their article. There has been ambiguity when an article, from one of these journals, has any of these associated costs as well as open access (OA) as to what should be charged. Therefore, Sage is clarifying its policy on the subject (July 2022).
There are two ways an article in a subscription journal can publish OA, one is through requesting to publish your article OA, this is called Sage Choice, or the article may have been identified as part of one of our Open Access Sales Deals (OASD).
New trade customers wishing to purchase our titles on a credit basis are requested to send their first order with a bank reference and references from two UK publishers with whom they are currently trading and to whom they have already made payments against a credit account. To request a new account application form, please email Danyel Flowerday, danyel.flowerday@sagepub.co.uk.

Los Angeles, Classroom instruction, lectures, and textbook study are all important, but long-term, engaged learning truly happens when the theoretical is combined with hands-on application. That’s why service-learning and civic engagement can be such an important part of a well-rounded education. What’s the best way to incorporate community-engaged learning into the curriculum?
London, UK - Education funding, particularly at university level, is tighter than ever under current austerity measures. A new study published by SAGE in the journal Theory & Research in Education proposes a radical new approach that offers affordable higher education to all, and yet avoids additional government spending.
Los Angeles, CA - A new study out today in SAGE Open finds that instead of breaking stereotypes, intellectually successful Black individuals may be susceptible to being remembered as “Whiter” and therefore ‘exceptions to their race,’ perpetuating cultural beliefs about race and intelligence. This new study shows that a Black man who is associated with being educated is remembered as being lighter in skin tone than he actually is, a phenomenon the study authors refer to as “skin tone memory bias.”
