T T Sreekumar holds an M.Phil. in Applied Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India and a PhD in Science, Technology & Society studies (STS) from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong. He is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Fellows Programme in Management-Communications (FPM-C) at the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA). Before joining MICA, he taught at HKUST, Hong Kong and at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. Widely published and holding advisory positions on the editorial boards of premier academic publications, his research interests include the impact of the internet in developing countries, ICTs and development, mobile communications, technoculture,religion and new media, civil society and new social movements. He is the author of ICTs and Development in India: Perspectives on the Rural Network Society, published in 2011 by Anthem Books, London.
