Dr. Julie Huffmyer is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. She also serves in the role of Associate Residency Program Co-Director. Dr. Huffmyer completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and residency training at the University of Virginia. Due to her interest in cardiac anesthesia and liver transplantation she completed a combined cardiac anesthesia fellowship and liver transplantation fellowship and has perioperative certification in transesophageal echocardiography. Dr. Huffmyer's specific interests include ventricular assist device therapy for the treatment of heart failure and glucose control in the cardiac surgery patient population.
