Her current work examines the scope and community dimensions of the Indiana nonprofit sector (www.indiana.edu/~nonprof). Other research and publications focus on the American welfare system, nonprofit funding relations, nonprofit capacity, and nonprofit data sources.

Susan M. Chambré is a Professor of Sociology at Baruch College, City University of New York where she edits the Working Papers Series of the Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management. She has published three books and numerous articles on civil society, volunteerism and social policy.
