The Foundations of Social Research
Meaning and Perspective in the Research Process
Very impressive book (as can be expected from Crotty), detailed, extensively referenced, extremely well written. Suitable for all Education students embarking on research.
Qualitative research is becoming a larger part of our syllabus and this book gives an excellent introduction to the subject, whilst going into greater detail for those students who need it. It is clearly written and easy to following, which is not always the case with other books on this subject.
Fantastic book! This book is advanced and challenging to read. I would recommend this book to the MSc students who were at an advanced stage in their writing and want to take their ideas and writing to the next level
Would highly recommend to some of my MSc students
Detailed and theoretical approach to both develop and inform social work practiitioners on the very important topic of social research. Particularly helpful for students completing dissertations at undergrad.
This is an excellent book which will give more experienced research students an understanding of social research. It is perhaps a little too detailed for the majority of our undergraduate student programme. However there will be some students who will be able to engage well with the text.
Excellent source of research methodology information
This is a really good book for undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level students. Although easy to read it covers the essentials of research and the philosophical underpinnings of research paradigms. Crotty manages to demystify research terminology and makes it accessible for novice researchers. This book is definitely recommended.
Excellent resource. Gives a clear and robust framework for social researchers seeking to implement qualitative methods.
