Miriam Labbok is the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI) Professor and CGBI Director, and also serves on the editorial boards of Breastfeeding Medicine and International Journal of Breastfeeding, and is a reviewer for many other journals. She founded the Mary Rose Tully Training Initiative, offering Pathway II training as part of a graduate degree.

Nancy E. Wight, MD, IBCLC, FABM, FAAP

Nancy Wight MD, IBCLC, FABM, FAAP is a board-certified Neonatologist, and Medical Director of Lactation Services for Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, CA. She gained her MD and did her training in Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She completed her fellowships in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and ECMO at the University of California San Diego Medical Center.

Laurie A. Nommsen-Rivers, PhD, RD, IBCLC

Laurie A. Nommsen-Rivers, PhD, RD, IBCLC, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Neonatology, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her role at Cincinnati Children’s is to contribute to the development of a multi-disciplinary research program in human milk and lactation. Her current area of research focuses on identifying barriers that impede mothers in meeting their breastfeeding goals and developing effective interventions for overcoming these barriers.

Laurence Grummer-Strawn, PhD, MPA, MA

Laurence Grummer-Strawn is a technical officer at the World Health Organization, coordinating work on infant and young child feeding. Until December 2014, he served as chief of the Nutrition Branch at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Having earned his PhD from Princeton University, he worked at CDC for over 23 years, in the areas of Reproductive Health and Nutrition. He is an epidemiologist who has published over 150 scientific publications.

Dr. Suzanne Haynes has held several key breastfeeding leadership roles at the request of the Assistant Secretary of Health during her tenure as the Senior Science Advisor for the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) in the Department of Health and Human Services. She chaired the HHS Blueprint for Action on Breastfeeding Committee between 1998-2000, which produced the Department’s first comprehensive policy on breastfeeding.
